How to treat gastroesophageal reflux

Gastroesophageal reflux can be treated with general treatment such as improving diet and work habits, medication such as H₂ receptor antagonist ranitidine, etc., and surgical treatment such as anti-reflux surgery. 1. General treatment: elevating the head and foot of the bed by 15-20cm can reduce recumbency and nocturnal reflux. Since postprandial reflux is easy to cause, it is not advisable to go to sleep immediately after eating, quitting smoking and limiting alcohol, and eating less oily and spicy food can also help to minimize the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux. 2. Medications: proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole and H₂ receptor antagonists such as ranitidine can inhibit gastric acid secretion; mucosal protectants such as magnesium aluminum carbonate can protect gastric and esophageal mucosa; prokinetic drugs such as domperidone can promote gastric emptying, thus reducing gastroesophageal reflux of gastric contents. 3. Surgical treatment: such as anti-reflux surgery, endoscopic gastric luminal suture/folding treatment. It is recommended to consult the doctor in time and under the guidance of the physician.
