Where are the lungs located in the human body?

The lung’s are in the thoracic cavity of the body, above the diaphragm, on both sides of the mediastinum, one on each side. The upper part of bilateral lungs is the lung cusp, which is covered with pleural roof above the lung cusp and reaches the root of the neck; the lower boundaries of both lungs are located in the 6th intercostal space on the level of the mid-clavicular line, the 8th intercostal space on the level of the mid-axillary line, and the 10th intercostal space on the line of the subscapularis angle, and the lower boundaries of the lungs are encircled by diaphragm, which is neighboring to organs such as the liver, the stomach, the spleen and other organs. The lungs as a whole are surrounded by the thorax, which plays a protective role. The thorax consists of ribs, sternum, and vertebrae working together to form a barrel-shaped structure that protects the lungs, the heart, and the great vessels. The lungs communicate with the outside world through the mouth, pharynx, and trachea to exchange gases and supply the oxygen needed by tissues and organs throughout the body, making them one of the vital organs of the human body. If there is any abnormality or discomfort, you should seek medical attention.
