The survival time of cancer patients is often expressed by 5-year survival rate, and the 5-year survival rate of patients with advanced tongue cancer is around 30%. Tongue cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the tongue, and its early symptoms mainly include tongue pain, erosion, ulceration and tongue mass, etc. After the disease progresses, tongue movement is restricted and chewing is difficult. Lymphatic and distant metastases can occur in the late stage. Its treatment mainly includes surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and so on. The 5-year survival rate of patients with stage I and II tongue cancer is more than 70%, and that of patients with stage III and IV is about 30%, with stage IV being the advanced stage. The 5-year survival rate of those with no metastasis in neck lymph nodes is above 60%, and that of those with metastasis drops to about 30%. Survival time will be further shortened if the patient suffers from underlying diseases, is older, has poorer health, and is not sensitive to drugs.
