Elderly people aged 70 can take Panax notoginseng under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners if bleeding or blood stasis exists, otherwise it is not recommended to take Panax notoginseng.
Panax ginseng, sweet, slightly bitter and warm in nature, has the functions of resolving blood stasis, stopping bleeding, activating blood circulation and fixing pain, and can be used to treat blood stasis as well as bleeding, joint swelling and pain caused by bruises and injuries. In addition, it is traditionally believed that Panax ginseng has a certain effect of tonifying deficiency.
If there are bruises, or problems with qi stagnation and blood stasis (blood stagnation due to lack of qi flow), bleeding, etc., Panax ginseng can be taken under the guidance of a physician to activate blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis (to promote blood circulation and eliminate stagnation of blood in the body), to stop bleeding, and to alleviate pain.
However, for 70-year-olds, if there is no blood stasis in the body and no bleeding problem, it is not recommended to take Panax ginseng without authorization to avoid damaging the body.
If there is a need for medication, it should be used under the guidance of a doctor’s diagnosis, and should not be used blindly on its own to avoid adverse consequences.
