Can you reheat breastmilk when it’s cold?

Breastmilk is not recommended to be reheated twice if it is cold. If a mother’s breastmilk is expressed, it should be placed in a suitable storage container for storage. When the baby needs breastfeeding, it can be heated once. However, the heating temperature needs to be controlled within 40°, preferably using hot water. If boiling and heating are carried out, the nutrients in the breastmilk may be damaged, affecting the baby’s nutrient absorption, which may lead to the baby’s slow growth and development. Due to secondary heating, breastmilk is exposed to air many times and contaminated by various pathogenic bacteria. After the baby consumes these breast milk, infectious diseases may occur, with mild symptoms showing symptoms of gastrointestinal infections, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc., and serious symptoms such as sepsis and bacteremia may occur.
