You can still check your blood sugar at 11 a.m., but a fasting blood sugar test is not recommended. Blood glucose measurements mainly include fasting blood glucose, two-hour postprandial blood glucose, random blood glucose, and glycated hemoglobin. Random blood glucose, two-hour postprandial blood glucose, and glycated hemoglobin measurements can be taken at 11:00 am. Fasting blood glucose, on the other hand, generally refers to the concentration of blood glucose measured during overnight fasting, i.e., without eating any food for at least 8 to 10 hours, and it is generally recommended that blood be drawn and measured early in the morning at 6 to 8 am. If fasting blood is drawn too late in the day, the accuracy of the blood glucose results may be affected, so fasting blood glucose tests at 11 a.m. are not recommended. Patients who need venous blood glucose measurement can go to the hospital promptly in a fasting state.
