How much vision is normal for a 9 year old

Generally, a 9-year-old child’s visual acuity should be around 1.0 to be considered normal. If the vision is below 1.0, or if there is a large difference in vision between the two eyes, you need to go to the hospital promptly for an examination. If there is indeed a visual acuity gap, an optometric procedure is needed. This can be done with a quick dilated eye exam to determine whether the difference is due to myopia or hyperopia. If there is a relatively high degree of hyperopia, a slow dilated eye exam with atropine is required, requiring three days of atropine ordering and a dilated eye exam on the fourth day. If you can correct to 1.0 with glasses, you need to wear glasses directly. If glasses with farsightedness or nearsightedness are still not corrected to 1.0, the child may be at risk for amblyopia. This requires not only glasses, but also amblyopia training and other visual function training.
