What kind of surgery is done for uterine polyps?

In the case of endometrial polyps, the diagnosis is first examined and confirmed by hysteroscopy. If the diagnosis is confirmed, and the endometrial polyp is relatively small and loose in texture, and well positioned, diagnostic curettage can be performed under hysteroscopy. If the endometrial polyp is large, tough or poorly located, such as in the uterine horns or postmenopausal endometrial polyps, further hysteroscopic electrolysis of endometrial polyps is required. Further postoperative treatment is required. Women in their reproductive years need to be treated with progestins or short-acting oral contraceptives for 3-6 months and then prepare for pregnancy. If there is no fertility requirement, it is recommended to place Mannitol after the operation to prevent recurrence of polyps. In case of polyps in the cervical canal, it is recommended to undergo diagnostic scraping or hysteroscopic polyp electrosurgery.
