Dizziness, nausea and vomiting after general anesthesia

Post-general anesthesia dizziness, nausea, vomiting is a common complication after general anesthesia, preferably in women, non-smokers, history of motion sickness, adolescents or had PONV. in addition to patient conditions, the occurrence of PONV is also related to the type of surgery (laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery) and anesthesia (general anesthesia using opioids and inhalation anesthetics). Surgical types such as gastrointestinal surgery, postoperative gastrointestinal mucosa edema, gastrointestinal peristalsis is weakened or even disappeared, resulting in gastric retention and vomiting. Postoperative vomiting is also common in patients with a full stomach, intestinal obstruction, and gastrointestinal decompression tubes.
