How to prevent prostate cancer?

There is no evidence that prostate cancer can be prevented, but there are steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of developing it.

Healthy eating habits can help reduce the risk of prostate cancer, such as avoiding a high-fat diet, eating less red meat, especially processed meat (such as sausage and lunch meat), and eating more fruits and vegetables. Healthy foods also include bread, grains, rice, pasta, and beans.

Antioxidants in food, especially in fruits and vegetables, such as lycopene, can prevent damage to the DNA of the body’s cells, which is linked to cancer.

Lycopene is mainly found in the following foods:

  • Tomatoes (tomatoes)
  • Spinach
  • Beans
  • Berries, especially blueberries
  • Grapefruit and oranges
  • Watermelon

However, whether lycopene can prevent prostate cancer is still open to further research.
