Generally patients aged 50-60 years old have no additional requirements for blood pressure control standards if there are no serious complications. Referring to the international and China’s hypertension guidelines, the normal blood pressure is lower than 120/80mmHg. If the systolic blood pressure is located at 120-140mmHg and diastolic blood pressure is at 80-90mmHg, it is considered to be a high normal value, i.e., a high level within the normal blood pressure range. Currently, blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg is defined as hypertension, and simple systolic hypertension is defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure <90 mmHg. For hypertensive patients aged 50-60 years, it is necessary to clarify whether the patient has complications of hypertension. If the patient has severe cerebrovascular complications, such as stroke, cerebral perfusion may be inadequate when the blood pressure drops to a systolic blood pressure of 140-160 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of 80-90 mmHg already below.
