Dry stools in infants may be physiological factors, or may be the manifestation of certain diseases, such as dyspepsia, congenital megacolon, etc., and should be promptly diagnosed to find out the cause of the disease. 1. Physiological factors: may be caused by reduced activity or improper diet, there will be difficulty in defecation and dry stools, can be improved by adjusting the diet. 2. Pathologic factors: (1) Indigestion: Since the gastrointestinal function of infants is not yet well developed, if parents feed their infants indigestible food or overeat for a long time, it will easily lead to indigestion of infants and the symptom of dry stool, which is often accompanied by the symptom of foul-smelling stool. (2) Congenital megacolon: It is mainly caused by the absence of ganglion cells in the intestinal wall of infants, which is related to genetic and environmental factors, and infants may show symptoms of dry stool. If physiological causes are ruled out, timely consultation should be made with the doctor to specify the cause of the disease and appropriate treatment should be carried out if necessary.
