What is the significance of cardiac enzymes?

Cardiac enzyme tests mainly include troponin, creatine kinase isoenzyme and myoglobin, the results of which are important for the early diagnosis of myocardial injury. In the presence of myocardial injury, cardiac enzymes are found to increase, but the time of increase differs among the three substances. Troponin rises first two hours after the onset of the disease, but its specificity is not strong, troponin follows about three to four hours later, and it is the one with the highest specificity, and CK-MB is the last to increase, but its value can be evaluated to assess the severity of the injury. The increase of these substances is mostly seen in myocardial infarction, angina pectoris and various cardiomyopathies, so this test should be done when the organism has panic attacks, chest tightness, etc., and prompt medical attention should be sought.
