Loud snoring in infants and young children may be due to physiological factors or pathological factors such as enlarged tonsils and adenoid hypertrophy, which can be treated by adjusting lifestyle, general treatment, medication, surgery and so on.
1. Physiological factors:
(1) Obesity: If infants and young children are obese, it will lead to the soft flesh structure of the pharynx of infants and young children is more hypertrophic, and the respiratory tract of the oropharynx is easy to be blocked when sleeping, and there will be a loud snoring sound. At this time, parents are advised to control the weight of infants and children, and the snoring can be relieved.
(2) Poor sleeping position: If the infant sleeps on his/her back, the tongue will fall backward due to gravity, and the respiratory tract will be blocked, resulting in loud snoring. At this time, you can let the infant sleep on the side to relieve the symptoms.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Tonsillar hypertrophy: If tonsillar hypertrophy causes obvious snoring and other breathing problems, you need to consider treatment through tonsillectomy.
(2) Adenoid hypertrophy: if adenoid hypertrophy causes loud snoring in infants and young children, fluticasone propionate, mometasone furoate and other medicines can be used to alleviate nasal symptoms, and adenoidectomy can be performed if necessary.
Infant snoring sound exclude physiological factors, should be timely to the hospital, identify the cause of the disease, targeted treatment.
