Is cyclophosphamide injection dangerous?

Cyclophosphamide is a chemotherapeutic agent that has certain risks and adverse effects associated with injection, commonly cystitis or hemorrhagic cystitis, and also secondary renal impairment. When administered via a peripheral vein, phlebitis can develop in the blood vessels at the site of injection, and the patient may also experience pain. Common side effects of chemotherapy drugs are gastrointestinal irritation, including nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, abdominal distention, and diarrhea, and liver function abnormalities, such as increased transaminases and bilirubin, with prolonged use of the drug. Before using cyclophosphamide, routine blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be performed, and the changes in laboratory indicators should be reviewed during the drug administration period.
