Aspartate aminotransferase is a type of aminotransferase that is mainly found in cardiac muscle cells and liver cells, but also in other tissues and organs. Clinically, increased aspartate aminotransferase is mainly considered to be caused by heart or biliary system diseases. Patients with myocardial infarction or angina pectoris may have increased aspartate aminotransferase, and acute and chronic hepatitis or biliary system diseases may also lead to increased aspartate aminotransferase. Therefore, if this indicator is high in the blood test, it should be excluded mainly from these two aspects. Of course, non-pathological factors, such as staying up late, drinking alcohol, and strenuous exercise can also cause a mild increase in aspartate aminotransferase.
