Chenpi Hawthorn in water has no 9 major efficacy claims, its efficacy mainly include strengthening the spleen and regulating qi, drying dampness and resolving phlegm (to remove phlegm in the body by drying dampness drugs), promoting qi and dispersing blood stasis, lowering fat and resolving turbidity, and strengthening the stomach and eliminating food.
Chenpi is warm in nature, pungent and bitter in flavor, and enters the two meridians of the lungs and the spleen. It has the effects of drying dampness and resolving phlegm, regulating qi and strengthening the spleen (regulating qi and strengthening the spleen). Hawthorn is sweet, sour and warm in nature, and has the effects of strengthening the stomach and eliminating food, lowering fat and resolving turbidity, and promoting circulation of qi and dispersing blood stasis. Drinking the two together in water not only digests the stagnation of greasy meat and food, but also relieves symptoms such as poor appetite and vomiting, coughing and phlegm, and epigastric (abdominal) distension and fullness.
Chenpi is not suitable for those with Qi deficiency syndrome, Yin deficiency and dry cough, or solid heat inside, and hawthorn is not suitable for those with deficiency in spleen and stomach but without stagnation.
Chinese herbs in water cannot be compared with medicines in terms of efficacy and action, so Chen Pi and Hawthorn in water can only serve to alleviate certain illnesses, and usually cannot have the effect of curing the illness completely.
Chenpi Hawthorn in water should not be used indiscriminately and should be guided by a professional Chinese medicine practitioner.
