Thyroid nodules can be examined by imaging examination, laboratory examination and pathologic examination.
1. Imaging examination: generally, thyroid ultrasonography can observe the size and shape of the nodule, the presence or absence of abnormal blood flow signals, etc., and can also assist in the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis in malignant thyroid nodules.
2. Laboratory examination: it is mainly to carry out thyroid function examination to observe whether it is accompanied by hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, and to carry out calcitonin measurement when medullary thyroid carcinoma is suspected.
3. Pathological examination: fine needle aspiration of the thyroid gland is often used to diagnose the benign or malignant nature of thyroid nodules with high accuracy.
If patients with thyroid nodules are not sure what tests they need to take, they can go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment based on the actual situation.
