Avulsion fracture of the external ankle of the left foot is first examined by imaging, and conservative treatment or surgery is decided according to the degree of displacement of the fracture. For avulsion fracture of the ankle, foot X-ray and foot CT are usually performed to clarify the size of the fracture block, the degree of displacement, and the degree of accompanying ligament injury. 1. Conservative treatment: If the fracture is small, no displacement or insignificant displacement, and the ligament is not completely ruptured, it can be immobilized by cast in valgus position, elevate the affected limb, apply cold compresses locally in the early stage of the injury, and alternate with hot and cold compresses after 72 hours, and take painkillers (diclofenac sodium delayed-release tablets) and anti-swelling medicines (Diosmin tablets) orally. After 4-6 weeks of immobilization, the patient should be re-examined. 2. Surgery: If the fracture is large, significantly displaced, the fracture affects the stability of the ankle joint, and the ligaments are torn, surgery should be considered. Fracture reduction and internal fixation surgery can be performed on an emergency basis. After surgery, the fracture should be fixed with a brace or plaster, and local exercise should be started 2 weeks after surgery. Avulsion fracture of the ankle is recommended to actively seek medical advice and treatment under the guidance of a physician.
