What’s wrong with a swollen face when you wake up?

Sleeping up with a swollen face may be physiological factors, such as dietary factors, overexertion, etc., but also disease factors, such as renal edema, hypothyroidism, cardiac insufficiency and other causes.
1. Physiological factors:
(1) Excessive hydration before going to bed: drinking too much water at night before going to bed may cause a greater burden on the body, and there is no way for water to be discharged normally, which will cause facial edema. It is best not to drink too much water one hour before going to bed.
(2) overworked: when the body is overworked, the circulatory system will be affected during sleep, and water may remain in the body. Overexerted people often have edema when they get up, but usually after a good rest, edema can be relieved on its own, and this situation does not need to be deliberately treated.
2. Disease factors:
(1) Renal edema: renal edema also means that after renal dysfunction leads to the obstacle of water and sodium excretion, it is easy for the human body to appear facial edema, double lower limb edema and so on.
(2) Cardiac insufficiency: cardiac insufficiency usually causes blood reflux restriction and localized swelling, so sleeping with a swollen face may be caused by cardiac insufficiency.
(3) Hypothyroidism: People with hypothyroidism may experience swelling of the eyelids in the morning, accompanied by swelling of the lower limbs.
If you exclude physiological factors, you need to consult a doctor in time, under the guidance of the doctor’s systematic treatment.
