What is the cause of congenital scoliosis

Congenital scoliosis is caused by congenital spinal developmental malformations such as congenital hemivertebrae formation, cuneiform vertebrae leading to scoliosis, and can also be caused by congenital developmental disorders of the spinal cord, the incidence of which is significantly lower than that of idiopathic scoliosis, with clinical manifestations such as more hair at the scoliosis, skin pigmentation, and lipoma formation. The onset of congenital scoliosis is early, usually no more than 4 years old and congenital scoliosis progresses very quickly without painful symptoms, and can cause visceral hypoplasia when severe spinal deformities occur, and positive and lateral radiographs of the spine can clearly show S-shaped curvature changes in the spine.
