How to correct a malocclusion

The orthodontic treatment of malocclusion includes interceptive orthodontics, general orthodontic orthodontics, surgical orthodontics and so on.
1. Interceptive orthodontic treatment: Interceptive orthodontic treatment refers to the early stage of malocclusion, through wearing simple orthodontic braces for orthodontic treatment, to prevent the further development of malocclusion to the degree of severity, and to guide the normal growth and development of the teeth and jaws.
2. General orthodontic treatment: general orthodontic treatment refers to the use of movable orthodontic appliances, fixed orthodontic appliances, functional orthodontic appliances and other types of orthodontic appliances according to different dental and maxillofacial malformations, which can make the malformed jawbone, misaligned teeth and periodontal supportive tissues change, and is conducive to the normal growth and development of the dental and maxillofacial.
3. Surgical correction: Surgical correction refers to the growth and development has been completed, serious osteogenic malocclusion, need to use surgical methods for correction. Different orthognathic surgical treatments such as maxillary anterior segmental osteotomy, mandibular anterior subapical osteotomy, and full maxillary horizontal osteotomy are required according to the actual situation.
Malocclusion needs to be treated under doctor’s guidance, dietary structure adjustment, and regular oral examination after children’s birth and tooth eruption, so that problems can be detected early and prevented at an early stage.
