What is a blood test for tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis blood tests are mainly blood sedimentation and T-SPOT test. The T-SPOT test mainly reflects the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, and if it is positive, it indicates infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, but it cannot determine whether the infection is past or recent. If the T-SPOT test is negative, tuberculosis is ruled out. Blood tests are required at the beginning of TB treatment, mainly to check liver and kidney function, because TB drugs can cause adverse effects mainly on liver function, so liver function needs to be routinely checked before using drugs.
