Thyroid nodule category 3 is an ultrasound classification. After evaluation by a medical professional, if the nodule is benign and does not have any uncomfortable symptoms, regular follow-up is usually sufficient; if it has the potential for malignancy, surgery may be required; if it is large enough to produce compression symptoms, surgery may also be required. According to TI-RADS classification, thyroid nodules are categorized into 6 categories, thyroid nodules classified in category 3 or below have a higher probability of being benign, and only less than 2% of them may be malignant, and it is recommended that such cases be reviewed once a year. It is recommended that patients with thyroid nodules of category 3 go to a regular hospital in time, under the guidance of a professional doctor for standardized diagnosis and treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
