How deep can acupuncture needles be inserted into the acupressure point

The depth of needle insertion when acupuncture is performed clinically at the point of Huizhong is 1 to 1.5 inches.
It is located in the posterior region of the knee, at the midpoint of the popliteal transverse stripe.
This point can be used clinically to treat low back pain, paralysis of the lower limbs, abdominal pain, acute vomiting and diarrhea, cryptorchid rash, salpingitis (an acute infectious disease in which the skin is seen to be red as if it has been coated with paint), dysuria (uncontrolled urination), and dyspareunia.
The acupuncture operation for this point is to stab 1~1.5 inches straight, or to puncture the popliteal vein with a three-pronged needle to bleed. It should be noted that the needling operation should not be too fast, too strong, or too deep to avoid injury to blood vessels and nerves.
If uncomfortable symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment. Acupuncture must be operated by a professional doctor, do not do it yourself to avoid danger.
