How to figure out your child’s future height

A child’s height is affected by many factors, and it is not possible to accurately calculate the future height of a child. However, since children have certain growth patterns at different ages, there are some patterns or formulas that can be used to approximate a child’s height at the appropriate stage of growth in the future. This height may differ from the actual height. 1~2 years old: the length of the child is about 50cm at birth, and grows fastest in the first year of life, about 25cm, with a growth rate of about 12cm in the first three months, and a slower growth rate of about 10cm in the second year. 2~12 years old: 2 weeks old to puberty height growth is steady, about 7cm per year, the formula is 70 + 7 × age. 12~18 years old: after entering puberty, there is a second peak in height growth, which is about twice as fast as that of the school age, lasting for 2~3 years, and the height can increase by 7~12cm per year, which can’t be calculated by a simple formula due to the fast growth rate at this stage. After the age of 18: The formula for calculating height as an adult is Boys: (Father’s height + Mother’s height + 13)/2. Girls: (Father’s height + Mother’s height – 13)/2. Height growth is related to race, genetics, endocrine, nutrition, exercise, disease and other factors, significant abnormal height is a manifestation of disease, if you find abnormal height during the growth stage should consult a doctor in time.
