Red bean refers to red lentil, adzuki bean and chicory bean, which comes from the dried mature fruit of the annual herb adzuki bean of the legume family and is cultivated all over the country. Red lentil is flat, sweet and sour in taste, and can remove heat and poison, relieve fullness, facilitate urination and lactation. It is used to treat carbuncles, pus and blood, lower abdominal fullness, unfavorable urination, edema, dry cough, long-standing dysentery, jaundice, lactation, and can be used externally to treat heat poisonous carbuncles, hematomas, and sprains. Red beans can be eaten whole, generally used for cooking rice, porridge, making adzuki bean soup or popsicles, ice cream and so on. It is used in dishes such as soybean and pork ribs soup. Because of the high starch content of red beans, steamed into powder sandy, and has a unique aroma, so it is often used to make bean paste, for a variety of cakes and dough, pastry filling. Red beans can also be made into red bean sprouts, eaten with mung bean sprouts.
