Etiology and treatment of pharyngeal anisocoria

Pharyngeal heterosensitivity can be caused by organic or non-organic lesions, the latter being more frequent in women aged 30-40. The clinical manifestation is a feeling of blockage in the pharynx, tightness in the neck, sticky feeling of sticky leaves or sputum, or a small ball-like “mass” moving up and down in the pharynx, which can neither be swallowed nor spit out, and is more obvious when swallowing saliva, but eating is not prevented. There are the following possible causes: 1. Non-organic causes: pharyngeal neurosis, hysteria, cancer suspicion, anxiety, schizophrenia, etc. 2. Organic causes: ① Reflux esophagitis and gastric disease: a reflexive blockage or urgency in the pharynx. Reported to be the first of all etiologies. (2) Chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract: pathological changes in the terminal circulation of the pharynx, resulting in neurological dysfunction and causing symptoms of pharyngeal heterosensitivity. ③Neuromuscular spasm disease: such as pharyngeal muscle spasm, esophageal muscle spasm, cardia spasm, etc. can induce pharyngeal abnormal sensation. ④Stem hypertelorism, cervical spondylosis, carotid arteritis, etc. ⑤ Tonsil stones, keratosis, overgrown hanging congestion, lingual tonsillar hypertrophy, chronic sinusitis, cricoarytenoid arthritis, etc. (6) Early stage of cancer in the pharynx, larynx, esophagus and cardia. (7) Others such as phytonadic dysfunction, endocrine dysfunction, menopausal syndrome, hypothyroidism, myasthenia gravis, dermatomyositis. Treatment: ①The key is to find the cause and do different treatment according to the cause. For example, reflux esophagitis and gastric disease is one of the most frequent causes, and treatment with acid-suppressing agents can yield good results. ② Detailed otorhinolaryngological examination, routine fiberoptic laryngoscopy and esophagoscopy are beneficial to prevent misdiagnosis of esophageal cancer. ③Particular attention should be paid to exclude malignant tumors. ④If there is no obvious etiology, attention should be paid to follow-up to keep the mood relaxed.
