What type of surgery should be used for small bowel gas?

Small bowel pneumonia, the common name for hernia, is a common and frequent disease in the elderly. It is caused by the protrusion of intra-abdominal organs from the weak area of the abdominal wall due to the weakness of the abdominal wall and increased intra-abdominal pressure. Therefore, these causes should be addressed before surgery in the elderly to reduce the recurrence rate after surgery. Once a hernia is formed, the quality of life of the elderly is seriously reduced, so as long as the elderly do not have serious cardiopulmonary disorders, they should be treated surgically. The traditional tensioned repair is no longer commonly used, and the popular tension-free repair is to cover the weak area with a patch, just like patching a hole in a garment. The main modalities are as follows: laparoscopic hernia repair: it is an intra-abdominal repair, with only three incisions of about 1 cm in the abdominal wall, beautiful incisions, fast postoperative recovery and low recurrence rate, but it requires general anesthesia, is expensive and interferes with the intra-abdominal organs, and is suitable for patients with recurrent hernia and high requirements for aesthetic incisions. Open anterior peritoneal gap repair: the patch applied in this way has a diameter of 10 CM and can completely cover the whole weak area of the inguinal region, with a low postoperative recurrence rate, light foreign body sensation, and does not require general anesthesia, and some patients can be operated under local anesthesia, which is economical. Personally, I recommend this surgical approach.
