Is appendicitis contagious?

Appendicitis is not contagious and does not belong to category A, B or C of our statutory infectious diseases. The causes of appendicitis are mainly in the following two aspects: first, the obstruction of the appendix lumen, and second, the invasion of bacteria triggering infection. Appendicitis is prone to recurring attacks when triggered by excessive fatigue, low immunity, irregular eating, and eating spicy and irritating foods. It is recommended to develop a good lifestyle, avoid overwork, exercise properly, increase resistance, adjust dietary habits, prohibit spicy and stimulating foods, abstain from alcohol, a small number of meals, with a light, easy to digest diet.
