Knee pain caused by discoid meniscus can be treated by general treatment, medication or surgery. 1. General treatment: If the discoid meniscus is injured acutely, it usually can not heal naturally, and in the early stage, it can also use mild valgus plus rotational knee unlocking, or apply plaster or knee immobilizers to help the patient gradually relieve the symptoms of knee pain. 2. Medication: There is no specific treatment for discoid meniscus, but ibuprofen gel, anti-inflammatory and analgesic cream, or loxoprofen sodium tablets can be used to alleviate the patient’s discomfort. 3. Surgery: If conservative treatment fails to achieve effective therapeutic effects, the patient can also be treated with surgery such as discoid meniscus total excision, partial excision of discoid meniscus and discoid menuplasty if necessary. Discoid meniscus patients after surgery, if the care is not appropriate or not timely functional exercise, may also cause knee joint stiffness, limited activities, muscle atrophy and other sequelae, so the treatment also need to be under the guidance of a professional doctor for rehabilitation exercises, as soon as possible to achieve the purpose of healing.
