American ginseng: this medicine is sweet, cool and slightly bitter in nature, and belongs to the heart, lung and kidney meridians, with the effect of tonifying qi and nourishing yin, clearing heat and promoting generation of body fluid. It can be clinically used in the treatment of qi and yin deficiencies, deficiency of heat and fatigue, coughing, phlegm and blood, internal heat and thirst (fever accompanied by symptoms such as eating, drinking and urinating), and dryness of mouth and pharynx. It should be noted that the drug should not be used together with Veratrum.
