The main treatment for cavities in the heart is cavity repair and interventional closure of the cavity. Atrioventricular septal defect is a very common congenital heart disease, and in general the defect is less than 5 mm in diameter and can be left untreated without clinical symptoms. If the septal defect is >5 mm in diameter, accompanied by active panic and chest tightness, or if right atrial enlargement has occurred, surgical treatment should be taken as soon as possible, and the commonly used surgical procedures are atrial septal defect closure and surgical atrial septal defect repair. The standard of treatment for ventricular septal defect and atrial septal defect is basically the same. For small ventricular septal defects, no intervention can be made, while ventricular septal defects with clinical symptoms that are larger than 5 mm in diameter should be treated surgically as soon as possible.
