After surgical removal of smooth muscle sarcoma of the thigh, adjuvant radiotherapy is required depending on the degree of progression of the disease. Smooth muscle sarcoma is a tumor originating from malignant mesenchymal tissue and is a relatively common malignant lesion that is more difficult to cure completely. Smooth muscle sarcoma is usually found in the retroperitoneum, lower extremities, and walls of large blood vessels. Patients with early stage of smooth muscle sarcoma of the thigh can be treated by surgical resection of the lesion and surrounding tissues, together with postoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy and targeted drugs, and most of the patients can recover after surgery. Post-surgery adjuvant radiotherapy, chemotherapy and targeted drugs can effectively reduce the probability of recurrence and metastasis, control the development of the disease, improve the quality of life and prolong the survival cycle. If the patient undergoes surgery to remove smooth muscle sarcoma of the thigh, which belongs to the early stage of patients, he/she can improve the examination after the surgery and listen to the advice of specialists to choose the appropriate post-surgery adjuvant treatment methods.
