What’s wrong with pregnancy sleepiness and fatigue?

Pregnancy sleepiness and fatigue are mostly caused by physiological reasons, but may also be caused by pathological reasons such as anemia, hypoglycemia or hypothyroidism syndrome.
1. Physiological reasons: after pregnancy, due to the embryonic trophoblast cells secrete a lot of human chorionic gonadotropin, which will cause drowsiness, fear of cold, fatigue and other pregnancy reactions, usually after two months of pregnancy, the symptoms will be slowly alleviated or disappear. In addition, due to the enlargement of the fetus, blood circulation, basic metabolism and other increases, calorie consumption faster, can also lead to the above phenomenon.
2. Anemia: Pregnancy fatigue may also be caused by anemia and other nutritional deficiencies, because most pregnant women have difficulty in consuming enough iron to satisfy both the mother and the fetus, which affects the synthesis of hemoglobin and causes iron-deficiency anemia, resulting in body fatigue.
3. Hypoglycemia: After pregnancy, the metabolism speeds up, the physiological function of pancreatic islets is exuberant, and the level of insulin is high, which can easily lead to hypoglycemia in pregnant women, resulting in symptoms such as tiredness and fatigue.
4. Hypothyroidism syndrome: the huge demand for thyroid hormones by the fetus and the mother during pregnancy, and the diffuse lymphocyte infiltration in the thyroid tissue, leading to goiter and hypothyroidism, causing a decrease in the metabolism of the body and causing the symptoms of sleepiness and fatigue in pregnancy.
It is recommended to seek further consultation with a gynecologist for guidance on the symptoms of pregnancy fatigue.
