If a child’s lip is broken, different treatments should be taken according to the degree of trauma. Generally, the wound can be cleaned and disinfected, compressed to stop bleeding, iced, warmed up and sutured to stop bleeding.
1. Cleansing and disinfection: If there is dust and other pollutants on the wound after a child’s lip is broken, it is necessary to use 0.5% iodophor solution locally to clean and disinfect the wound and prevent it from becoming infected and inflamed.
2. Pressure hemostasis: If the bleeding is obvious after the lips are cracked, it is necessary to use sterile cotton rolls or gauze to stop bleeding by pressure, generally need to be pressed at the bleeding point for about five to ten minutes, and no obvious active bleeding can be.
3. Ice compress: the child’s lips may be cracked soft tissue congestion, edema symptoms, general 24-48 hours can be used to ice pack ice compress the affected area, can play a role in reducing swelling and pain.
4. Hot compresses: If the child’s lip is swollen after 48 hours, you can choose to use a hot towel to apply hot compresses, which can also reduce the swelling.
5. Suture hemostasis: If the child’s lip is torn and the soft tissue is torn causing excessive bleeding, the child needs to go to the hospital in time, and under local anesthesia, suture hemostasis will be performed, and the suture will be removed in 7 days or so.
