Whether a grade 4a right thyroid nodule is important or not depends on the nature of the thyroid nodule, if it is malignant it is more important, if it is benign it is usually not important.
A grade 4a right-sided thyroid nodule is a type of ultrasound classification for a suspected malignant nodule. Thyroid nodules are a class of confined masses that appear in normal thyroid tissue. In terms of the TI-RADS grading of thyroid nodules, a thyroid nodule class 4a is a low-grade suspicious malignant nodule with a malignancy rate of 2% to 10%.
Pathologic examination of thyroid tissue needs to be considered if necessary. If the nodule is malignant it is more critical and requires surgical treatment to remove the diseased tissue or even the entire thyroid gland. If the nodule is benign and asymptomatic, it is not important to have regular checkups and follow-ups under the guidance of a specialist. In addition, benign nodules that are too large and have symptoms of pressure need to be treated surgically.
If a grade 4a nodule is found on the right side of the thyroid gland, it is necessary to go to the hospital for treatment under the guidance of a specialist.
