Is Parkinson’s Surgery Successful?

Parkinson’s surgery has a low success rate and is not a cure, although it can significantly improve motor symptoms, especially for limb tremor and myasthenia gravis.

Parkinson’s disease is a common neurodegenerative disease that is more common in the elderly. It is associated with the degenerative death of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. The exact cause of the disease is still unknown, and may be related to genetic factors, environmental factors, ageing, and oxidative stress.

From the discovery of Parkinson’s disease to the present day, there is still no complete cure for the disease, despite the fact that mankind has continued to make great advances in the disease. There are no effective measures to stop the onset and progression of the disease, and medication and surgery can only improve symptoms.
