Anorexia caused by weakness of the spleen and stomach usually has a long course of illness, and is divided into three types in Chinese medicine: loss of healthy movement of the spleen (dysfunction of the spleen’s function of transportation and digestion), deficiency of the spleen and stomach qi, and deficiency of the spleen and stomach yin. Anorexia caused by deficiency of spleen and stomach qi, manifesting as not thinking of eating, eating but not transforming, loose stools mixed with undigested food, less colorful, tiredness and fatigue, etc. It is often treated with the addition or subtraction of Isokong San and the treatment of Pediatric Kangning Syrup. 3. Anorexia caused by deficiency of Yin in the spleen and stomach, manifested as not thinking of eating, eating less and drinking more, loss of moist skin, dry stools, short and yellow urine, etc., commonly used to nourish the stomach and increase the liquid soup plus or minus treatment.
