Multiple interstitial pneumonias of both lungs are inflammation of the interstitial nature of the lungs due to infections, radiation, inhalation of chemicals, and other etiologic factors.
Multiple interstitial pneumonias of both lungs are predominantly lesions of the alveolar walls, including peri-alveolar tissues and their adjacent supporting structures. It mainly includes interstitial pneumonia of known etiology and idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, sarcoidosis and other interstitial pneumonias.
Patients may present with a dry cough, shortness of breath, chest tightness, generalized weakness, and dyspnea. As the disease progresses there may also be cyanosis of the lips, hands and toes and thickening of the ends of the fingers. In severe cases, it may cause pulmonary heart disease and respiratory failure.
Patients with multiple interstitial pneumonias in both lungs should go to the hospital in time to do relevant examinations, and then targeted treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
