How to exercise with internal patella fixation

Different exercise methods can be chosen according to different stages after patella internal fixation.
1. Early postoperative period (0~1 week): the affected leg can be used for ankle joint active activities, hooking foot, dorsal foot pressure, and also can be used to pad towel rolls under the knee, thigh force downward pressure and keep doing isometric contraction exercises.
2. In the middle postoperative period (2~6 weeks), you can do knee flexion and extension joint mobility restoration exercises, such as sitting leg drop, supine leg drop exercises, step by step, gradually increase the knee flexion angle.
3. At the end of the postoperative period (6 weeks~3 months), with the increase of the flexion angle, you can do sitting or lying knee holding exercises, straight leg raising exercises, leg hooking exercises and so on.
4. 3 months after surgery: the training mode and intensity can be decided according to the fracture healing, and the stability can be increased gradually through proprioceptive exercises (such as static squatting exercises, one-legged squatting exercises, etc.).
Exercise for patella internal fixation should be carried out under the guidance of professional therapist, do not exercise blindly on your own to avoid aggravating the condition.
