Can you get a chest X-ray while breastfeeding?

A chest X-ray can be done while breastfeeding.
Chest X-rays are performed using X-rays and there is ionizing radiation present, but there is no direct effect on the quality of breastmilk or on milk production by the mammary glands in breastfeeding women. The radiation exposure dose from a chest x-ray is very low, and it is recommended to undergo a chest x-ray if it will help in the diagnosis of a disease.
However, if a woman undergoes a chest X-ray during breastfeeding, it is usually possible that she is suffering from a combination of diseases such as pneumonia. If the inflammation is severe and causes fever and other discomforts, it is recommended that breastfeeding be suspended, and breastfeeding be resumed after the disease has resolved.
If a breastfeeding woman feels unwell, please seek medical advice to clarify the cause and intervene promptly to avoid adverse consequences.
