The feeling of blood gushing from the top of the head is mostly considered to be caused by elevated blood pressure, which may cause vasospasm of blood vessels in the brain or vasodilatation when the blood pressure is too high, and the patient may have headache, as well as nausea and vomiting, and most of them are manifested as fluctuating headache. If the patient is severely hypertensive, it may also cause hypertensive encephalopathy, and the patient may experience increased intracranial pressure, as well as vomiting and nausea. The main treatment is to lower the blood pressure, and the commonly used drugs are amlodipine and irbesartan. If there is increased intracranial pressure, the treatment of lowering the cranial pressure should be actively given, and mannitol and glycerol fructose are usually applied. When there is severe increased intracranial pressure, the patient may have optic papillary edema, and also eye distension and pain, and so on. In addition, patients with hypertensive encephalopathy may suffer from memory loss and inattention, which can be treated by applying olanzapine and piracetam to improve cerebral metabolism, and if the patients are vascular headache, such as migraine and cluster headache, they may also suffer from the above mentioned symptoms, which are mainly treated symptomatically.
