Fangfeng Xieduo Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine formula from “The Complete Book of Pox and Measles”, in which Fangfeng and Thornybush are the principal herbs, which have the effects of penetrating the rash and relieving the epidermis; Mentha piperita, Forsythia lappa and Burdock, which can relieve the wind and detoxify the toxins and the rash with pungent and cool penetrating effects; Gypsum and Zhimu can clear the lungs and stomach; Mutong and Bamboo Leaves can clear the heart and relieve diuresis; Hovenia Citri Reticulatae and Platycodon Grandiflorus can promote the lowering of qi and eliminate phlegm to relieve the mouth; and Glycyrrhizae radix can harmonize all herbs.
With the efficacy of pungent coolness and penetration of hair, Fangfeng Xietu Tang can be used in conditions such as rash when warm (heat rash), the first appearance of measles, fever and cough, chills and fever (cold and hot at the same time), and it is not yet determined whether it is measles or not.
