Colonic tubular adenomas do not recur 100% of the time. Whether colonic tubular adenoma will recur needs to be judged according to the nature, size and number of adenomas and life habits. 1. The nature of adenomas: studies have shown that the pathological types of intestinal polyps are mainly choriocapillaris or choriocapillary tubular adenomas, and their recurrence rate is higher than that of patients with tubular adenomas. Intestinal polyps can be categorized as mild, moderate, or severe heterogeneous, with severe heterogeneous hyperplasia having the highest recurrence rate, whereas tubular adenomas rarely progress to severe heterogeneous hyperplasia. Choriocapillary tubular adenoma and choriocapillary adenoma are larger in diameter and are often accompanied by heterogeneous hyperplasia of the epithelium or glands, which may be one of the reasons why the recurrence rate of choriocapillary tubular adenoma and choriocapillary adenoma is higher than that of tubular adenoma. 2. Size and number of adenomas: the size of intestinal polyps is also one of the factors affecting the recurrence rate. Most studies show that the number of intestinal polyps ≥3, adenomatous polyps ≥10mm in diameter are prone to cancerous transformation, and the rate of cancerous transformation of polyps increases with the increase of diameter. 3. Bad life habits: such as smoking, drinking, eating too much greasy and spicy food, the recurrence rate of intestinal polyps increases. Therefore, the recurrence rate of colonic tubular adenoma is very small, but it needs to be judged comprehensively. Patients with colonic tubular adenoma need to follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review after treatment and pay attention to the dietary habits, so that they can achieve good prognosis.
