If the examiner is not taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs, polyps found under gastroenteroscopy can be removed on the spot if they are small. Whether or not a polyp found under gastroenteroscopy can be removed by clamping first needs to be considered whether or not the examiner is taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs, such as aspirin, clopidogrel, and so on. On-site clamping is contraindicated when taking such medications because of the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. If the examiner is not taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs, the polyp can be removed on the spot if it is small, while larger polyps usually require the examiner to be hospitalized and prepared for elective removal. It is important to note that the polyps removed need to be sent for medical examination to determine the nature of the polyp before proceeding to the next step of treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
