There are three versions of Wei Xi Pills, namely Jin Gui Yi (金匮翼), Jian Jian Men (医学入门), and Feng Shi Jin Zi Secret Record (冯氏锦囊秘錄), and all of them include Poria cocos and yellow wax in their formulations.
The main ingredients of Wei Xi Wan include yellow wax and white poria. White Poria should be peeled and cut into pieces, boiled together with Poria, and then sun-dried after eliminating Poria. The sun-dried Poria cocos should be powdered and made into bullet-sized pills together with melted yellow wax.
It is mainly used in the treatment of dreaming, avoiding rice vinegar and anger during the period of taking the medicine.
It is mainly used in the treatment of dampness in the kidneys, lack of solidity of the essence, and dreaming of leucorrhea (cloudy urine like white slurry), and vinegar is contraindicated.
Feng’s Secret Record of the Brocade is mainly used for treating the husband’s deficiency and exhaustion of yang, lack of solidity of spirit, white turbidity of urine, dreaming with much alarm, frequent diarrhea, etc. It is also used for treating white turbidity of leukorrhea in women, etc. Avoid eating rice vinegar, but eat bran vinegar.
