If there is a heartbeat and no breathing, it is possible to save the patient’s life, but untimely treatment or the progression of the original disease may also lead to the patient’s death.
1. If the patient has a heartbeat and is not breathing, the emergency department will provide artificial respiration, mechanical ventilation, respiratory stimulants, and treatment for the original disease. If the patient’s condition improves after resuscitation, attempts will be made to remove the ventilator, and if spontaneous respiration is restored, the patient may be revived.
2. In the case of heartbeat without breathing, if breathing can be restored within six minutes, there is still hope for recovery, generally more than six minutes may cause brain death, that is, vegetative.
3. Some diseases can be cured, but some cannot be completely cured. Even if the patient resuscitates and recovers breathing again after not breathing, he may suffer from respiratory arrest again as the disease progresses. Eventually, both breathing and heartbeat will stop, which may lead to death.
When there is a heartbeat without breathing, you should immediately carry out artificial respiration and emergency medical treatment as soon as possible, for systematic examination and treatment, in order to win valuable survival time for the patient.
