Can children develop insulinoma

Insulinomas are neuroendocrine tumors originating from pancreatic islet cells and are mostly benign. Children may develop insulinomas, most often in the age group of 4 years and older.
Children may develop insulinomas, which are easily misdiagnosed as neurologic disorders because they often begin with psychiatric symptoms. Qualitative diagnosis of insulinoma relies on laboratory tests.
Most insulinomas in children are curable, as the vast majority of insulinomas are benign, and their primary treatment is surgical resection, which can be localized to achieve radical cure. Some are malignant and can be treated with radiation therapy or chemotherapy depending on the patient’s condition.
For children with insulinoma, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals, consult professional doctors, cooperate with doctors to complete relevant examinations, and actively deal with it.
