What are the Symptoms and Treatment of Pulmonary Fibrosis

Symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis include dyspnea, dry cough and weakness, etc. It can usually be treated by symptomatic treatment and causative treatment. 1. Symptoms (1) Dyspnea: patients with pulmonary fibrosis mainly have progressive dyspnea, most of them have insidious onset, which is more obvious especially after activities, while some of them have pestle finger, and in the terminal stage, patients will have hypoxia manifestations, such as dizziness, purple lips and fingernails, and activity limitation. (2) Dry cough and fatigue: patients with pulmonary fibrosis will also have dry cough, and with the development of the disease, some patients will also have non-specific systemic symptoms such as weight loss, emaciation and fatigue. 2.Treatment (1) Symptomatic treatment: patients need to be given appropriate concentration of oxygen, so as to maintain oxygen saturation above 90%. Patients with pulmonary fibrosis with combined infection can cooperate with doctors to choose anti-infection treatment, and they should have to carry out culture and drug test, and give sensitive antibiotic drugs, such as cefixime, azithromycin, amoxicillin and so on. (2) Treatment for the cause: for pulmonary fibrosis secondary to rheumatic immune disease, the primary disease should be dealt with. If the patient belongs to idiopathic fibrosis, smoking and alcohol cessation are needed, and drugs such as pirfenidone and nidanib can be given at the same time. If it is related to gastroesophageal acid reflux, antacid drugs such as omeprazole and lansoprazole can be chosen. It is recommended that patients with the above symptoms can go to the hospital, cooperate with the doctor to improve the relevant examination, and give targeted treatment and therapy.
